"Kauan odotettu Renoise v3.5 — Mitä uutta?" — Skrolli 2026.1

A four-page feature article (pp. 12–15) written and photographed by esaruoho for Skrolli — Finland's computer-culture magazine (Tietokonekulttuurin erikoislehti, 14th year of publication). The issue (2026.1) was a music-themed cover issue, "Tee tietokoneellasi MUSIIKKIA" (Make music with your computer).

Byline: "Teksti ja kuvat: Esa Ruoho (Lackluster)" — text and photos both by Esa.

What the article covers

A review of Renoise v3.5 (released June 2025), framed around the question the Paketti community has been asking since 2002: does this update answer what the tracker's users actually wanted? Sections include:

The "Mikä Paketti?" sidebar

The article includes a dedicated sidebar, "Mikä Paketti?" (What is Paketti?), describing Esa's own tool: open-source Lua tool for Renoise since 2011, 8,000+ keyboard shortcuts, 130 dialogs, 1,500+ MIDI mappings, thousands of menu entries, ports of workflows from C64 / Amiga / Mac / PC-DOS tracker history. Patreon-funded (patreon.com/esaruoho), GPL 3.0, developed on GitHub with a Discord community; 700+ feature requests implemented. "I also use Paketti live and in improvisation — it is not just a studio tool."

A full-page photo on p. 15 shows Esa performing live with Renoise + Paketti.

Significance

First print-magazine authorship credit in the CV (distinct from being written about): Esa as the writer and photographer of a feature in a national computer-culture publication, on the exact software (Paketti / Renoise) that is his primary tool-development work.
