When I found that the Finnish Association of Living Food was looking for a person to use Adobe InDesign to publish their newsletter, I immediately called Birgit Bäckman. Within a few days, I started my internship there.
During this time, I got to use my newly acquired skills with InDesign CS2 to publish the Elävän Ravinnon Ystävä newsletter to members of the association, and mailed out membership application forms, books, newsletters, video-cassettes and DVDs to customers.
I was also responsible for sending the annual membership invoices on time, and getting in touch with companies such as Ekolo and Ruohonjuuri to renew their adverts in the newsletter — which sometimes required minor graphical adjustments to the adverts to keep them up-to-date.
I would receive articles for the newsletter and maintain the association's help-network information printed on the back of the newsletter. I also got fairly familiar with their website and updated it with new products and articles.
